Hasps / Haat

Public art work in front of Iso Omena Shopping Centre / Metro Station Entrance in Matinkylä, Espoo, Finland.

The inspiration for the artwork comes from the history of Matinkyl: the first public records from 16th century that said there were four houses in Matinkylä and then the old concrete apartment block suburb built in the '60s.

There are lights coming from the openings in different sides of these concrete built "yards" and the shape of hasps in every opening.
